Alabar quero al Dió con tañer y cante, | I wish to praise God by playing and singing, |
siendo él no pedrió amistad avante: | because He didn't hide He bestowed love upon us: |
de hombre berbante El mos escapó | God saved us from a wicked man |
y a Amán lo encapó | and He threw Haman |
en una paida, non topó fuida. | into a trap, so that he couldn't escape. |
Buscó Amán el mamzer de querer marcarmos | The bastard Haman singled us out |
esto lo quiso hacer para atemarmos, | This is what he tried to do to eliminate us |
no mos olvidamos esta enemistad: | We didn't forget this hatred |
meldamos con amistad | We lovingly read |
de la vieja 'storia, teneldo en memoria. | the ancient story to keep it in our memory. |
Viniendo la hora ses de el primer dia | Six o'clock on a Sunday |
en la mesa empecés con muncha alegría; | We will sit down to eat very happily |
haced la hombría como el dover: | To be courageous as is our duty |
empecemos a beber | we will begin drinking |
día y la noche hasta hora doce. | day and night until midnight. |
Tenemos de ajuntar todos los vicinos | We have to invite all our neighbours |
para tañer y cantar y prebar los vinos, | to play and sing and to taste the wines |
troquen maronchinos y que den baksis, | and exchange almond cookies and give money |
salchichas metan al shish, | put sausages on the grill |
las mesas bien hartas, frutas y salatas. | the tables were full of food fruit and salads. |
Kelal de este Purim es de abrir las manos, | It's a rule on Purim to open our hands |
diciendo Alah Kerim e viva, hermanos, | and to say "Allah Karim" wishing them well. |
coman endianos, sofrito y kebab, | Eat without restriction fried and grilled food |
cada uno su erbab | each to his own taste. |
ordenen las mesas sin haber manquezas. | Set the tables let there be nothing missing. |
Se vistió la reina Ester en el trecer día, | Queen Esther dressed up on the third day |
vestida de su color que al oro parecía, | dressed colorfully looking like gold |

- Alevanta, Mordejai, vistete este sayo, | - Get up, Mordechai, get dressed in this gown, |
toma la corona, súbete al caballo, | take the crown and ride the horse |
te llevare al bano, yo te lavaré, | I will take you to the bath I will bathe you myself |
y también te almizclaré, | and I will also perfume you |
yo, que so ligero, telek y barbero. | Very diligently I will cut your hair. |
- No me puedo alevantar, que sto enflaquecido, | - No, I cannot stand up, because I'm very weak |
ses dias hacé, con hoy, que pan no he comido, | I haven't eaten bread or food for the last six days. |
ni agua bebido, yo y mis talmidim: | I haven't drunk any water neither me or my students |
todo por modo de tí, | All because of you, |
el Dió que te mate y a mi, judió, escape. | God will kill you and I, the Jew, will escape. |
Y Amán se emburrachó y salio afuera, | And Haman became drunk and left |
a los hijos demandó que perasa era; | and asked the children which parasha it was; |
le dijeron: Va-era, Va-era el Abraham. | They said to him, "Va'era" - "And I appeared to Avraham" |
tenemos padre rajman, | We have a forgiving father |
que a Hamán lo mata y a los judiós escapa. | who killed Haman and saved the Jews. |
